What Causes Discomfort In The Throat?

i have had a discomfort on my throat a year past now...i consulted into a doctor why i ain't get cure despite of those doses over the counter i took...the doctor said that i have an allergy the she prescribed me a drug called celestamine...now, i have this discomfort again on my throat...i forgot, how many times i took it in a day...i only ask how many times that will take this drug in a day and how will it take long?

Causes of discomfort in the throat could be due to chronic post nasal drip, chronic pharyngitis,gastroesophageal reflux disease,thyroiditis,tumors in throat and anxiety.One of the most common cause is anxiety itself(globus pharyngeus).This condition is diagnosed by excluding other causes of lump in the throat.Examination of throat by a specialist helps to rule out other conditions.The treatment of globus pharyngeus involves reassurance and psychiatry councelling.The dosage of the above drug is individualised depending upon the condition.Usually for adults maximum 8 tablets a day are allowed (1-2tablets every four hourly)tablets.After controlling of allergy dose adjustments are needed so that maintainance dose can be attained.
