When I open my mouth wide, and stick my tongue out somewhat far, I see a weird flap in the back I assume to be my epiglottis. Frequently, I get an odd feeling in my throat which makes me gag, feel uncomfortable, etc. Could this feeling have anything to do with my epiglottis?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history well. The Epiglottitis is a serious problem and causes severe pain and make speaking and swallowing difficult. Hence you do not have this disease and do not worry about it.
To get a confirmed diagnosis I would advise you to get an ENT Endoscopy and get the problem diagnosed and solved if you need to.
