What Causes Disorientation With Pulse Rate Of 110?

My mother who is over 65 has a pulse rate of 110 (it has dropped to 90 once we had her lay down). She also seems to have some trouble thinking. Can we just keep an eye on her until tomorrow and contact her doctor or is this something we need to go to the ER for?

A pulse rate of 110 is not dangerously fast but may be an indication of a more serious underlying problem. My concern is her disorientation. Both the fast pulse and disorientation could be part of another problem that is potentially serious. She could be developing an infection, have problems in an organ such as her liver or heart, be bleeding internally, or even have had a small stroke. I would recommend she be brought to the ER to assess her for these possibilities. Hope this helps.
