What Causes Distorted Vision After A Cataract Surgery?

I had cataract surgery last October. When I look at a point on a straight line, a bump in the line will appear. When I focus on a certain letter when watching tv, part of the letter will disappear. It just seems to affect the small area I m staring at. Ex. Staring at the vinyl siding on my house from a distance, it appears as if a small area of the edge of the siding is deformed.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I think you have macula edema, in which fluid builds up in the back of your eye. You should be given non steroidal anti inflammatory drops. If the problem doesn't resolve, then a posterior sub-Tenon's injection of steroid really helps. I would advise you to contact your surgeon and discuss all this.

Hope it helps.
