An MRI detected what I have been told is a non-specific change in white matter. I am being referred to a Neurologist. What prompted the MRI was dizziness, double/triple vision, twitching of my body, etc. I have been on several medications since aortic valve and aneurysm replacement last May. A complication to that was two chords of the brachial plexus were severed during open heart surgery. Neurosurgery surgery was performed 5 days after neurosurgery. After 9 months of rehab I am left with several dead muscles and continued nerve pain. My question is, could the nerve damage be related to this change in white matter?
There is a definite neurological effect. It is advisable to consult a neurologist. Take ECG and ultrasound heart rule out myopathy clinical examination by a cardiologist is recommended after proper diagnosis treatment can be recommended get checked by the surgeon for the postoperative problem already problem of brachial plexus is being informed.
The pace is to be examined, and if pacemaker replacement is to be implanted nerve damage could be related to white matter effect. The second opinion can be taken your problem in cardiac surgery are multiple it requires highly specialized doctors examination and advises on treatment EEG can be done.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
