General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history of a rare problem of feeling very faint, gets cold and clammy on exposure to loud or typical sound.
The possible causes can be one of the following:
Anxiety and stress can give rise to such symptoms wherein the psychology is connected to sounds and sometimes with intense light.
Can be a type of epilepsy.
Internal or inner ear problems.
I would advise you the following in such a situation.
Since porevention is better than cure, it is better to avoid such sounds, situations that instigate or enhance your symptoms.
Consult an ENT Surgeon for detailed clinical evaluation, examination and investigations such as Audioletry, MRI of mastoids and any other studies.
Psychological evaluation and assurance may help may be added on with few medications.
The management will depend upon the factors found.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
