What Causes Dizziness And Disoriented Feeling After Discontinuing Rexulti?
I ve been on Rexulti for a few months for sudden anxiety onset. It didn t seem to help and my practitioner upped the dose to 2 mg. No results but then told me to add 1 mg of adavan at night ... I was loopy, dizzy, disoriented all day. I only seem to feel better is at the end of a day. My new doctor prescribed Prozac but told me to wean off the rexulti for two weeks. I can t take the dizziness or disorientation and am unable to work that way. Is there a way to wean off faster without the bad effects?
It is an antipsychotic, not an anti-anxiety medication. It does not need weaning off generally. Since it approves for depression, one could want any anti-depressant to gradually wean. But if it isn't for depression, then this consideration does not apply. Prozac and antipsychotics are not generally used for anxiety. And other anti-depressants such as Paxil or Remeron that are sedating are more commonly uses for that.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
