What Causes Dizziness And Fainting?

Hello. Today I fainted after a bout of cheering at an NFL game. I am an otherwise healthy 27 y/o female. I felt extremely dizzy prior to fainting. Then suddenly, everything went black. I toppled over the people in the row in front of me (head first) per what my husband described to me. Should I be checked by my primary care physician tomorrow?

Hello,

You had fainted while cheering NFL game, luckily you didn't hurt yourself. Dizziness and fainting commonly occurs when your vitals are not normal, low blood pressure, low blood glucose level, dehydration, standing up too fast, etc. Other serious medical conditions that may cause fainting attacks are stress, anemia, exhaustion, cardiac problems, stroke (loss of consciousness due to reduced blood flow), seizures or issues with the nervous system.

You are suggested to take rest, avoid stress or anxiety, just relax. Take home made nutritious food rich in iron, minerals and proteins. Take adequate fluids and water to help your blood electrolyte system get normal. Supplement yourself with sodium and potassium. Take orange juice, ORS, electrolyte, etc. Stay away from addictions if any. However, take clinically examined by a GP, get all routine tests and investigations done to detect the pathology that caused you symptoms. You will be treated accordingly.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
