Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My blood pressure tonight is 100/60/83 and am dizzy and weak when standing. What causes low blood pressure. I am taking Coreg for high blood pressure. It generally keeps my blood pressure normal. I have been taking plavix since I had a stroke a year ago. I am a female 91 years old.
Dizziness at the time of standing is because of hypotension and it is nothing to take with hypertension or the medicine taken for it. It is the orthostatic hypotension happening because of pulling down the blood pressure towards the gravity. This a very temporary phase and does not need any treatment. Care needs to be taken while standing, do not stand up suddenly just be slow and take it easy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain,
