Hello Sir! I am sorry to hear of your condition. I can provide some general guidelines -
The combined symptoms of
dizziness, fatigue, lethargy, poor sleep suggest the following possibilities:
1)
Sleep deprivation caused by interrupted sleep patterns contributed to by having a one year old. A mother needs to retain the ability to awaken and tend to the child, so sleeping aides are not the answer in my opinion.
a) You may try some relaxation and calming aides prior to trying to have a consistent bed time:
*drink some lemon balm tea
*eliminate caffeine at least 4 hours before bedtime and gradually wean off all caffeine except for am
*Try a session of calmness with soft music and
meditation. Use headphones and try to arrange for someone to keep an eye on the baby or wait until toddler is sleeping
2) Have you had your thyroid panel checked lately? If you were my patient I would suggest the following lab work if you have not had it done in the past 6 months:
a)TSH, free T4 for basic thyroid check
b)vitamin D levels
c)
Complete Blood Count to check for anemia
d)My patients would also get ferritin, B12 and folate as a combination of these deficiencies may make an anemia look like it was not caused by a deficiency. So, if
Hemoglobin is low, these things should be checked.
3) Adaptogenic herbs may help increase the sense of well-being. These include Ginseng and
Ashwagandha.
4) If you have an increased appetite is it associated with
weight loss or is it stress eating? If you are losing weight then you need more calories and that is easy to accomplish by altering you food intake. If it is stress, then focusing on meditation and stress reduction will assist in keeping appetite properly regulated and not influenced by the stress hormones as strikingly.
I hope these suggestions have helped. Healthy regards, Kathryn
