What Causes Dizziness And Headaches When On BP Medication?
Hi I am 33 yr old female that has been on bp meds of Lisinopril 10mg for just over 2 months…my bp is usually pretty good when I take it at home. With that said for over 2 months now I have been experiencing very frequent dizzy spells and headaches(daily). I have seen my regular Dr. plus just saw an ENT…all seem normal with my ears but as I was having tests done…I had a dizzy episode with pressure in my head at the ENT specialist office while doing an exam so he had my bp checked and it was 148/100 pulse 100. What is going on with me…I too am really tired all the time! HELP
Hi,welcome to Healthcare magic. Thanks for posting your question on this forum. Many blood pressure medications are known to cause headache as their side effect. This would be more in case of lisinopril.Avoid over correction of blood pressure.Generally first dose hypotension and dizziness.Maintain adequate hydration with 3-4 liters of water a day.The headache should improve with analgesics like ibupofen.Maintain blood pressure under 130/80 mm of hg. I advise you to have a baseline ECG and 2 dimensional echo on the follow up to have a recent quick review of your cardiac functional reserve. I understand your query and concern. Consult an expert cardiologist for further expert management. Post your further queries if any. Thank you.
