What Causes Dizziness And Hearing Loss?

Hi I m just wondering whats wrong with my hearing. After my ear infection went away two month ago, I got dizzy and lost some hearing temporary. When I went to get a hearing test (a month ago), my hearing was back and the lady that did my test was really rude to me. Now a month later, my dizziness is back and my hearing is going again. What could be the problem?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your short history related to recurrent loss of hearing and dizziness, hearing tests and so on.
The commonest causes of recurrent such problems can be one of the following:
The infection or inflammation from the nose or pharynx gets transferred through Eustachian tubes to the middle ear causing relative deafness.
Further inflammation of the inner ear causes dizziness and such problems.
Hence I would advise you the following :
Consult your ENT Surgeon for proper clinical evaluation and ENT Endoscopy.
This will give the clue of the disease process, cause and gives a proper plan of management.
Till then use nasal and oral decongestants.
Steam inhalation.
Anti-inflammatory medications like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Do not blow nose.
Avoid pollution and sudden temperature differences.

I hope this answer helps you. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,

Dr. T Chandrakant,
