Hi my daughter in 2010 had a few episodes of dizziness not going unconscious but was sought of slumped loss of vision very white with blue lips it lasted probably 5 mins she once blacked out completely she was sent for ecg last august as was having palpatations ecg showed sinus rhythm with short pr of 108 I am now concerned as she is going for cosmetic surgery in September and I am worried she could have a heart problem and the general anaesthetic is not good . she has been well in herself going to the gym and no more conscious type of faints or dizziness should I arrange to see a cardiologist thankyou
I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your daughter's symptoms could be related to epilepsy seizures or cardiac arrhythmia.
For this reason, I recommend consulting with her attending physician for a physical exam and some tests:
- a cardiac ultrasound
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid gland dysfunction
- blood electrolytes for possible imbalance
- an ambulatory 24-48 hours ECG monitoring for possible cardiac arrhythmia
- an EEG for possible seizures.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka,
Cardiologist
