What Causes Dizziness And Nausea After Using Sendinor 2?

Its been a week after concluding my mensuration. I somehow had unprotected sex. I decided to take postinor2 the following evening. I couldn t find postinor2 at the local chemist I went to and I was given a substitute sendinor2. After taken it I was expecting some body reaction or some internal effects like dizziness, nausea etc. But I didn t feel any of that. Two days later, thinking the drug I had taken may not have been very effective I went out again to look for postinor2 and this time I found, and I took it. Now its been 6 days since I took it, I have been experiencing incessant periodical bleeding alongside with pains and it would almost seem as if I am seeing my period again. I also frequently feel some dizziness and general weakness. I m so scared right now. This isn t the first time I have taken Postinor2, I ve never had such an experience. I m thinking something may have gone wrong. Perhaps as a result of seeminly over dose i took, i don t know......Please doctor advice me. I need your help.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in HCM.

After going through the description you have posted, it appears that you have effects related to overdose of emergency contraceptive pill.

Sendinor 2 or Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive pill. It contains Levonorgestrel, which is a progestin. It may prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation, altering transport of sperm or eggs to prevent fertilization, or altering the lining of the uterus to prevent implantation if fertilization occurs.

It has to be taken within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. In 3 weeks, periods should happen, which rules out the possibility of pregnancy.
Hence, there was no necessary to take such a drug again.

Some of the side effects noted with use and its over dose include:breast tenderness, changes in menstrual flow, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, nausea, stomach pain, tiredness and vomiting.

Some of the symptoms you are already experiencing. It will take a couple of cycles to regularize. So don't be scared. Drink more of water and keep your self hydrated. You can take symptomatic treatment if any of the effects are not tolerable. Don't make such mistakes once again.

Hope the information provided is useful.
Wish you good health.
