Hi I am 64 a diabetic on insulin and metformin. My blood pressure this morning is 122 over 77. I do not manage my diabetes very well. Levels between 13 to 19. I keep coming out in spots all over the top parts of my arms and chest area. Over the last few days I have been very dizzy, disoriented, falling over all the times and getting terrible pains just beneath my collar bone which I have assumed is trapped wind I am generally feeling unwell. I have a frozen shoulder since October have been told by doctor to exercise my shoulder and could take 18/24 months to heal, loads of questions sorry
My concern with your poorly controlled diabetes and these symptoms that something is going on with your heart or major arteries going to your brain. When diabetes is not controlled, both large and small blood vessels throughout your body can get blocked and narrowed to the point where blood flow is restricted. This can create pain in the area and malfunction of the organ the blocked blood vessel is supplying. If it's an artery to the brain, you could have a stroke. The dizziness, disorientation, and falling over suggest a possible blocked to an artery going to the lower part of the brain. In any case, this is potentially very serious and you need to be evaluated promptly. Go to emergency where they can check your heart and do a brain scan and be sure this is not the problem. Hope this answers your query.
