What Causes Dizziness And Palpitations In Old Age?

HI, MY MOTHER IS 90YO AND FEELING A LITTLE DIZZY WITH COLD CHILLS TODAY. BP IS 130 OVER 80, PULSE IS 70 AND IRREGULAR. HAS 4-5 PACS/PVCS IN ONE MINUTE. SHOUL WE BE CONCERNED AT THIS POINT ? SHE DOES NOT LIKE GOING TO HOSPITAL. IT SEEMS NORMAL FOR HER AGE. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

She could be having a problem with her heart that may be treatable, such as atrial fibrillation or some other type of arrhythmia. I wouldn't dismiss it just because of her age. It would be better if she saw her doctor and had an EKG done. Then they could see if there is something that can be treated and will make her feel better. If she can't get in soon to see her doctor, then it's safer that she at least be seen in urgent care or emergency, where they can figure out what's going on. It doesn't necessarily mean she will have to go into the hospital. Hope this helps.
