I work out regularly, am 60 years old. After each work out I go into the hot tub. The last three times when exiting the hot tub I have become dizzy and off balance, hard to catch my breath. What can cause this, no issues during intense workouts with trainer
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Hot water bath may cause vasodilation lead to hypotension and giddiness. Autonomic nervous system won't compensate according to age. so postural hypotension or heat induced synchope. Better to avoid very warm water bath, at the end of hot bath you may use cold water bath to early recovery. Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
