Body movement and motion make me dizzy and I start vomiting. I’m seventy years old, male, prostate cancer survivor, mild stroke, so on blood thinners. No temperature....97.5 degrees. Began this afternoon and continues unless I stay motionless in chair or bed.
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You may have a condition known as BENIGN PARLOXYSMAL VERTIGO (BPV). Easy to diagnose but a neurologist or neuro-otologist and easy to treat with what are called BRANT-DAROFF Exercises. Other LESS LIKELY diagnosis would be MENIERE'S disease because you're not saying anything about tinnitus and loss of hearing which are usually felt on the same side of the head. If this is the correct diagnosis then, I shall tell you that more than "body" movements making you dizzy....it's HEAD MOVEMENTS that are likely making you dizzy. Therefore, be prepared to feel dizzy spells whenever going from a lying to standing/sitting position, going from a STANDING to a LYING position, flipping or rolling over in bed, bending down to pick up something from the floor, etc. Changes in head position should be done slowly and when you get into a new position, just close your eyes and wait for the dizziness to stop before moving or opening your eyes. Please rate this a 5 STAR ENCOUNTER and write me at: www.bit.ly/drdariushsaghafi with more comments/questions.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
