What Causes Dizziness, Headache And Breathlessness While Having Diabetes Type2?

I have type 2 diabetes that I do not treat. I have recently started becoming very fatigued with any exertion, this is accompanied with shortness of breath and weakness in extremities. I frequently am dizzy and nauseated and have headaches. Is it possible this is only the diabetes or something else?

Hello there,
I can understand your concerns.
Diabetes is a lifestyle disease and if uncontrolled can damage your eyes, kidneys, nerves and even increase your risk for heart diseases. Treatment in the form of diet changes and exercise alongwith medicines goes a long way in preventing all the complications of diabetes. The symptoms you have described can be due to high sugars. As in diabetes although there is high sugar in the blood this sugar cannot enter the cells and so the cells are starved for energy. Thus you feel fatigued, breathless and nauseated. Now you need a battery of tests like Blood sugars, average sugar for three months (HbA1c), Kidney functions, ECG and eye exam as a baseline after thorough examination. So please visit a diabetologist and start treatment right away. The better the controls in the early years of diagnosis the better the outcomes in later years.
Take care.
