For the last three weeks I have been getting lightheaded nauseous and sweaty palms while sitting. I also get cloudy or fuzzy in my head. I ve gone to the Er and seen my ppc who referred me to a cardiologist. He ran ekg and bloodwork which came back fine. I am on ativan for anxiety and metoprolol. The cardiologist prescribed bp med yesterday and I took my first dose this morning. I am tired of feeling like something is not right. I am experiencing same symptoms again right now. Any further suggestions
I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms could be related to blood pressure fluctuations, blood glucose fluctuations or thyroid dysfunction. For this reason, I would recommend a close monitoring of your blood pressure values. Other tests to perform are:
- a chest X ray study- an abdominal ultrasound - a Head Up Tilt test for orthostatic intolerance - thyroid hormone levels - fasting glucose and glucose tolerance test.
If all these tests result normal, you should consider anxiety as a possible cause related to your troubles.
Hope to have been helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Best wishes, Dr. Aida
