For the past four nights when I lay down to go to sleep at some point I get dizzy and my head spins and feels like my brain is sloshing around. Last night the same thing but I was burning up and got a cold sweat and felt some what short of breath. I had to sit up in a chair for 3 hours before I felt better.
Your symptoms could be related to a sinus infection or an inner ear disorder. Do you have any cough during sleep? A cardiac disorder could mimic such clinical scenario. For this reason, if the problem persists, I would recommend consulting with your physician for a physical check up and some tests:
- a sinus X ray study - a cardiac ultrasound and resting ECG - complete blood count - PCR, sedimentation rate. - a chest X ray study for chronic degenerations of the spine.
You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
