What Causes Dizziness While Standing Up After Recovering From A Previous Stroke?
Hi. My mother sometimes has problems with dizziness when she stands up, and sometimes after she has been standing for a long time. She had a stroke a few months ago, but recovered very quickly. The dizziness had been happening long before the stroke, but a speaking problem was the first sign of the stroke and it only lasted a few days. Now weeks later she had the speaking problem again just for few moments. She has had all kinds of tests but they cant t find anything wrong. What do you think it is?
The symptoms that your mother is experiencing is indicative of balance disorders caused by stroke in the area of brain that is responsible for balance, vestibular changes and vision changes can also cause such symptoms.
You are suggested to get your mother re-examined by a GP. She should get done all required tests and investigations. Her treatment will depend on the pathology causing her symptoms. Sometimes. low blood pressure, hypoglycemia, dehydration, can also cause such symptoms. Make sure her vitals are normal. She should be well hydrated and adequately fed. Get her treated at the earliest.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
