What Causes Dizzy Spells And Low Energy After Giving Up Alcohol?

I am an acoholic and I have stopped drinking for the past 5 months. I have been considered a Type 2 diabetic and have had coronary artery disease w/cabg for 18 years. I am having dizzy spells and low energy since giving up alcohol. Is there an association to the dabetes or CAD?

Ok.... either there is a physical basis for the symptoms or there isn't. So, if someone says they feel like they are about to faint and there's nothing abnormal on anything connected with blood flow (normal blood pressure, blood flow studies in the brain normal) then it seems psychological. Alcohol use generally raises blood pressure except while drunk or dehydrated. due to mild withdrawal. Often people are put on blood pressure medicines. Then when the blood pressure is no longer elevated, they have a low blood pressure from the medicines.
cannot say in your particular case.
