I am 52 years old. One morning I woke up and I noticed I have severe double vision to the point that I had to keep one of my eyes closed to be able to function. When I looked @ myself in the mirror I realized that my left eye was crossed (looking towards my nose while the right eye was looking straight ahead). I have to say that I am wearing glasses and I have astigmatism in my left eye. After three weeks my eye is normal again and I only have slight headache. Would you please tell me what is happening?
it is uni ocular diplopiasince you are havingentero phoria in one eye. if after 3weeks it is alright then its intermittent squint.it appears vision of both eye are OK. however get your refraction done. also exclude cataract. if every thing is al right then nothing to worry. otherwise treatment is to be given for defect detected.it is to be diagnosed.
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that you are having nerve palsy probably involving the sixth cranial nerve. The common causes are diabetes, hypertension.... If these are absent a thorough neurological evaluation is required. Hence I advice you to consult your physician and neurologist for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
