What Causes Double Vision When Suffering From Paranasal Sinuses?
CLINICAL HISTORY: CHORDOMA history of previous surgical resection. Patient now presents with double vision. The arterial flow-voids at the base of skull are visualized, consistent with gross patency. The visualized paranasal sinuses are grossly aerated. What does this mean?
1. This depends upon where the chordoma was removed from.
2. Was any other treatment such as radiotherapy given after the surgery? What period of time has elapsed since the surgery.
3. Grossly aerated paranasal sinuses should be more or less normal and are unlikely to cause double vision. The double vision is probably due to a recurrence of the chordoma.
4. If you can upload pre and post operative CT scan images. I will be able to give you an accurate assessment. You may reply here or directly at bit.ly/Dr-Sumit-Bhatti
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
