What Causes Dropping Hands Along With Fibromyalgia?

My daughter was diagnosed with fibromyalgia at the age of 15 she is now 18. There has been little to no help for her over the past few years. She is now having issues with her hands dropping things just out of the blue. I am starting to wonder if she might have something else as well. We live in Oklahoma, she is in desperate need for help, but alot of doctors dismiss her because she is too young to have this disease or they think she just wants pills. What do we do to get her some help?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hello,

The episodes of suddenly dropping things could indicate myoclonus.

Do the episodes happen soon after waking? Does she have jerks around the time she sleeps? I would recommend meeting a neurologist there for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saumya Mittal
