Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on 10 mg for about seven weeks. It was prescribed for pain relief but has not been effective so far. I find myself drowsy and slightly depressed for no reason. I think it is the effect of the drug and want to come off it. How is best to do this?
Hello, Welcome to HCM, I understand your concern. But it seems your query is incomplete as you didn't mention the drug you have taken. From the facts you have mentioned, I hazard a guess that you have been prescribed Opioid analgesic which are known to drowsiness. Acute withdrawal can cause depression, insomnia and difficulty with daily functioning. If that's the case, I suggest you visit you physician and discuss how best to terminate the therapy and find other options. Opioids are to be slowly tapered. Hope this helps you. Good luck in your recovery.
