What Causes Dry And Cracked Skin On The Finger Tips?

my fingertips have gotten very dry and split- I haven t used harsh detergent or soap, they aren t chapped. I have been taking muscinex and dayquil/nightquil, and I ve been under intense pressure at work- is intense drying and cracking of fingernails a sign of something else?

The condition which causes dryness and cracking is called Irritant contact dermatitis which is actually an allergic reaction to detergent/soap/water. Please reduce the contact period of your fingers with detergents. Immediately dry your fingers after wet work. Do apply moisturizers frequently to reduce dryness. If you could not get any improvement, consult your family physician/dermatologist.
