Hello
Thank you for writing to us on Health care Magic.
Based on your history the response to your question is as follows.
1.
Dry cough is due to postnasal drip secondary to cold.
2. Need to reduce cold, mucus build up. Along with sneezing and
shortness of breath, allergy is possible cause.
3. Need to avoid further allergic exposure. Also antihistamines like
cetrizine or
loratidine, will help in reduction of symptoms. Steam inhalation to lyse thick mucus and salt water gargling to avoid
pharyngitis and dry cough will be helpful.
4. If cough is severe, as now, which has causing pain in trunk, back - linctus codeine syrup can be taken to suppress cough. As there is no sputum expression, it will be helpful.
5. No antibiotics, necessary as there is no infection. Avoiding further allergen exposure through varying masks will be helpful.
