What Causes Dry Mouth And White Coating On Tongue?

For about six months I have been noticing these purple drool spots on my pillows no matter where I am, home or hotel. I just had an endoscopy done and everything was normal and my sinuses do not seem to bother me that much. I just cannot find an explanation for the spots on my pillow. My tongue always has a white coating and my mouth stays dry no matter how much water I consume. I have used the prescription Nystatin mouthwash but nothing seems to help. I had cancer in 2002 and of course any unexplained occurence tends to shake you a little.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The purple drool you are describing can be a blood tinged saliva this occurs secondary to gum infection because of the deposits. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get you teeth cleaned(scaling).
Regarding your dry mouth since you are giving history of cancer, if you have taken radiotherapy for cancer treatment, there are chances of getting xerostomia or drymouth. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can use artificial salivary substitutes like carboxy methyl cellulose.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
