Hi..
Thanks for the query..
Dry mouth can be due to a number of causes like -
Severe dehydration,
-Side effects of medications if you take any.
-
Salivary gland dysfunction.
-
Nerve damage supplying salivary glands.
-Oral infections like thrush..
-Sjogren's Syndrome..etc..
So first of all you should get the cause ruled out for the underlying cause that is responsible for dry mouth.
You will have to get the cause treated so that the dry mouth subside..
The treatment that you are taking will reduce dryness but will not treat the cause, so treatment of the cause is a must..
As of now continue with the treatment advised to you..
Also chew sugarfree chewing gums..
Drink plenty of water.
Avoid regular mouthwash and use specialised mouthwash that are formulated for dry mouth patients like
Biotene..
Suck tart candies as it also stimulates saliva flow..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
