What Causes Dry, Red, Painful Swollen Face After Using Murad Cream?

i started used murad about 5 days ago and i went from using a neutrogena all natural face wash to using the murad 4 steps to clear skin kit, day and night. About 2 days ago i woke up and my face was intensely dry, red, kinda swollen and hurt. It s been like that for 3 days now and it s just now starting to smooth out. I quit using the murad because i don t know if thats just a side affect or if i m allergic to it. Should i never use something with the acid in it again or should i not use all 4 steps?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

The symptoms seem to be related to an allergic reaction.
I suggest to use an antihistamine such as Cetirizine 10 milligrams to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest to avoid using creams with acid ingredients in the future.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
