What Causes Dryness In Throat And Pain In The Chest?

After I had a cold few months ago, my throat started to be very dry. I have obstructive phlegm in my throat all the time since then, and this uncomfortable feeling does not go away. I sometimes had a pain in my chest, so I even had a lung test, but the result came up with nothing. Should I go to a hospital and get a treatment or something?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
Post viral cold, there will be residual congestion in the throat causing dryness and irritation.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 2 weeks.
Chest pain usually can be because of gastritis also.
If so take a proton pump inhibitors + prokinetcs drug one tablet before food for 2 weeks.
If chest pain is increasing, more on exertion, then please consult with your doctor and get evaluated
hope my answers have helped you. Thanks. .
