Hi.. The causes of duodenal ulcers can be many.. including H. pylori infection and chronic NSAID(analgesic) drug usage being the most common causes.. Stress also can cause duodenal ulcer.. Anything that increases gastric acidity predisposes to duodenal ulcer.. duodenal ulcer usually causes aching pain in the epigastric region and central abdomen.. pain gets aggravated with food intake and vomiting relieves pain.. In long-standing cases, ulcer may penetrate deeply leading to complications.. You need to consult a gastroenterologist for an endoscopy and further treatment.. avoid NSAID drugs, alcohol which increase acidity.. proton pump inhibitors like pantoprazole or rabeprazole have to be taken to reduce acidity and promote ulcer healing.. anti H. Pylori regimen may have to be taken after urea breath test or endoscopy.... Thank you
