My 2 year old daughter fell and hit her forehead on the sidewalk. She has a huge goose egg and bruise, but she is acting completely normal. Since hitting her head, she has been complaining that her ear hurts. She'd been in the pool a lot earlier in the week, so I'm wondering if it could be water in her ear, an ear infection or could it related to the head injury?
It is possible that the ear pain is related to an infection in the ear.
The incident with the head trauma is not likely related.
It would be best to take her to her doctor for assessment. In some cases of ear infection, the symptoms may resolve but in most cases topical or oral antibiotics are necessary.
She may also need to avoid the pool for a short time. I hope this helps
