Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, Earlier this evening my four year old daughter fell off a swing (while it was swinging) and landed face down onto pavers. She scraped up her forehead above the right eye and has a decent sized raised red area as well as scraped up knees. We put ice on all hurting areas, but now she is crying that her ear hurts. Ear that is hurting is the same side as the banged forehead. Anything I need to worry about? Thank you!!
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. I understand your concern. First be reassured that your kid is normal. I am suggesting you danger signs of head injury - 1. Vomiting continuously 2. Seizures 3. Watery of bloody discharge from ears and nose 4. Unconsciousness 5. Altered sensorium or behavior.
But as far as earache is concerned, there could have been a middle ear injury and I suggest you take her to an ENT surgeon at the earliest. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
