What Causes Early Morning Bowel Movements With Night Sweats?
I have been waking at night with sweating around my neck and chest area. Lately have had a viral infection and taking a steroid med for it. Never had this before. Also for the first time in 71 years have had to go to the bathroom very early in the morning. Not used to that either. Odd, to say!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted that you are 71 years and have for the first time have the problems of going for bathroom early in the morning. You had viral fever for which you are taking steroids, also have sweating around your neck and chest at night. All this history is suggestive of the following: It looks that the problem started with viral fever and continued as stomach flu. Another possibility is that you have mild gastroenteritis mimicking like flu hence showing with night sweats and other symptoms you have suggested. I would advise you the following: Get the blood and stool checked and if there is any evidence of secondary infection, please go for a 5 day course of an antibiotic and supportive medicines. This will cure your problem.
