What Causes Elevated PSA Levels After Discontinuing Lunesta?
Hello sir, I have an elevated PSA that doubled in 6 months from 2 to 4 and a jump to 5 in the last 2 months. I have an appointment with a urologist in 2 weeks. What should I expect? What is a free PSA test.? It is known that I have a enlarged prostate for several years. I have no negative symptoms . It may be coincitental but my libido increased greatly after I stopped taking Lunesta for sleeping problems; And my PSA jumped after that. I am 72 years old. My father did have prostate cancer that was treated with radio active seeds.

Rise in PSA in short span needs further evaluation to rule out any possible chance of malignancy. Altogether PSA level of 4 is not very high( age related prostate enlargement or UTI etc can give it) and PSA is also not conclusive about malignancy. But still an USG and may be prostate biopsy may be need to rule out malignancy. please visit an urologists.
