What Causes Elevated SGPT Levels Post Levofloxacin Intake?
Last week o had tonsillitis and high fever. I took paracetamol 665mg tab 2 and 2 suppositories. My doctor also advised to take an antiobatic name luvofluxacin 750 mg. Daily. After 4 days I made my SGPT test which come 135. I do not have diabetes. Colostral level normal, no high blood pressure, kidney test normal. What made my SGPT high ?
Incomplete data like age, gender, any history of alcohol intake or medical illness??
It seems to be due to paracetamol overdose.Based on the history you have taken larger doses of paracetamol which appear to have resulted in liver injury causing raised SGPT levels.
The most common side effects of the antibiotic Levofloxacin include diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, skin rash, and tendon damage. It is uncommon for Levofloxacin to cause liver injury in healthy individuals. Stop taking paracetamol and consult your doctor immediately for proper clinical assessment and treatment. Wishing you a smooth and speedy recovery.A feed back is appreciated.
Take Care!
