What Causes Elevated Cholesterol Levels Post Ross Procedure?

HELLO I HAD the Ross procedure in 1995 where my aortic vale was removed and my pulmonary was moved to where my aorta valve was. then I had a cadaver where my pulmonic valve was. my cholestoral was 215 hdl was high and my ldl was just over the limit. my cardiologist was saying I might have to be put on cholestoral meds . he said that the results weren t to bad but worse with someone who had a ross procedure. can you tell me why is it worse for me

The Ross procedure in itself plays no role in cholesterol levels. High cholesterol is a very common issue in many people and it is due mainly to genetic predisposition favored in many cases by unhealthy diet. So the Ross procedure is not the cause, what the cardiologist has meant is that high cholesterol is related to a higher risk of damage to blood vessel and heart problems, so a patient who has undergone heart surgery should pay extra attention to other risk factors such as cholesterol.
