hi, i have a 9 years old son, since few weeks, water is coming from his left eyes and sometimes its continous. Last week, I went to the Pediatrics doctor but he says lets check, his nose might be blocked, but to me everything looks normal and still water is coming from his eye..may be some other problem. ..is there anything to worry.please suggest.
epiphora takes place when tear flow is blocked complete ly or partiality nasolacrimal duct to nose. it can be confirmed by punctum dilatation and syringing, flintlock then fluid or normal saline passes to nose if blocked it does not pass. in your case the child may not cooperate. it may have robe done by GA or short acting anasthesia.
