What Causes Episodes Of Bleeding After Knee Implant?
I had knee replacement in 2010. This year, I have had three episodes of bleeding I to the knee implant. The knee would Derek to almost twice it s size in a matter of minutes. The swelling was aspirated twice and the fluid was blood. My surgeon did a scope and removed a lot if scar tissue, but was unable to determine the cause of the bleeding. Right before the swelling started, it would feel like something in the knee implant would move a little out of allignment. Any idea what might be going on?
I studied your case and I must admit that it is not common to have bleeding in joint after three years of the surgery. There has to be something wrong with the knee joint. As you have said that you have got knee arthroscopy, I want to know if they sent any sample for biopsy as this may help in finding out the cause. If no biopsy was sent that time I would recommend you to get a knee biopsy. It can be done with a very small needle just like a OPD procedure so it is not a big deal.My diagnosis is most probably a knee infection or a synovitis.
