What Causes Episodes Of Raised Heart Beats And Tingling In Arms?

my heart has been beating very hard for a few seconds, then feels like it's stopped for a few seconds, for years. No pain, no problem. Happened maybe 2-3 times a year. Six months ago, and just now, it beat extremely hard; I expected it to just start beating again after a few seconds but it really felt like it forgot to start; thought for sure I was going to hit the floor, felt lightheaded...still do, some pressure on left side of chest, no pain. At the store my hands began tingling during the episode. Any ideas? I'm female, 53, in good health (i think!)

Hi,

If you feel the abnormal heart beat then it hast to be ruled out for heart disease although stress, anxiety, hormone changes are the common condition for this but it has to be really ruled out for cardiac disease and for that EKG is advisable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
