What Causes Excessive Bleeding When You Are On Birth Control?

Im on birthcontrol, ive been on for about a year so 4 shots. In september i go get my 5th shot but i keep bleeding and i expected it to have stopped by now but it hasn t. Also when i bleed its alot it just runs like water and its dark red and clotty is something wrong?

It seems you are taking depoprogesterone shot every 3 months, 4 shot in a year. now you took the 5th shot. It can cause prolonged bleeding but usually it is very light. it should not be the way you have described like water , dark blood with clots. You need to return to the doctor and get examined so that anyother cause of bleeding could be determined.
