What Causes Excessive Saliva In Mouth?

Hi, I have had excess saliva in my mouth with a constant need for swallowing in the last 3 days. It makes me feel constantly nauseous and last night I had trouble sleeping when lying down. Will this go away on its own or do I need to see a doctor? Thanks

Hello,

Excessive salivation may be due to anxiety or acid reflux or post nasal drip or pharygitis or nasal polyps etc.

Rare possibility like parkinsonism or drugs intake or dog bite.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Avoid spicy food and alcohol. Use tablet pantoprazole.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
