What Causes Excessive Sleepiness And Fatigue While On Bupropion And Effexor?

Hi doctor, I have been sleeping way too much. I have no energy and my body hurts. I have a constant pain below my left rib, my right knee hurts, just recently my left shoulder started to have pain. I m always thinking I need to be in bed sleeping. Mediation wise i am on 20 mg of adderal daily. I am also taking 300 mg of bupropion and 150 generic Effexor. I just saw my doctor and she want me to go to a psychiatrist. I m tired of being tired and in pain.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related doubts

I can understand your concern. You are on Adderall which is a stimulant drug, Bupropion which is an antidepressant and Effexor or Venlafaxine which is an antidepressant drug. Adderall and Bupropion are known to result in stimulation and reduce the sleepiness and fatigue. Effexor too is relatively less sedating compared to other antidepressants.

If even with these drugs your symptoms are persisting and have symptoms like sleepiness, fatigue, tiredness etc then this should be evaluated properly. This could be due to persistent depression symptoms. Visit your psychiatrist again for help.
