What Causes Excessive Sweating And Lightheadedness?

I just all of a sudden while sitting at work, started sweating got light headed and began to feel faint. I ate some candy and drank a bottle of water. This was probably an hour or so ago and I m feeling better but I still feel a little light headed. Could this be a Hypoglycemic episode?

Hello dear,
I understand your concern.Acute onset excessive sweating along with lightheadedness(close to fainting) can very well be an episode of hypoglycemia. If you are sure that it improved after eating a sugar candy, that further substantiates the chances of it being hypoglycemia. However,Hypoglycemia is a biochemical diagnosis and you can't label it unless you have low blood sugar levels documented. On the other hand,it can be just an episode of severe anxiety.Sometimes, emotional outbursts can also manifest as such. So,we can only think of possibilities unless we have a documentation.I hope it helps you.
