Diverticulitis may cause fever and blood from the rectum. The sweats are related to the fever (it is a physiological mechanism of the body during fever). I would recommend consulting with your attending physician, for a careful physical examination, a routine blood test, kidney and liver function tests, blood electrolytes, a stool analysis and a fibrocolonoscopy, to search for the possible cause of this clinical scenario.
