What Causes Excessive Sweating, Joints Pain And Fatigue While Having Hypothyroidism?

I have hypothyroidism that even an endochrologist seems to have a hard time regulating. I m miserable, I sweat dripping sweat doing anything, my joints ach, my throat is hoarse and soar, fatigued, sometimes it feels like I have ear infections in both ears then stops as fast as it started, my eyes are puffy, I choke easy and have a hard time breathing when sleeping or relaxing especially if my head/neck is tipped forward some. I have had goiters and just seen endocrinologist and no goiter. She says sweating is from menopause but I have been done with that for 10 years. I am a 57 year old female any help or sugesstions would be greatly appreciated, Sincerely Sandy W.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

EDear excessive sweating may be due to hypothyroidism or hypotension or hypoglycemia or viral fever or lymphoma, etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Avoid spicy food and alcohol avoid smoking and caffeine drinks. Check for serum electrolytes or urine examination, chest X-ray, ECG status. If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
