Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 13-month-old has become excessively thirsty in the last 3 days. He ll get really upset until I give him a drink and will chug down up to 6 ounces of milk, juice, or water. He s drinking about 8-10 ounces every hour. Could this just be a passing thing or should I take him to the doctor?
If started only 3 days back, we need not worry now. This may be from a change in environmental temperature or dehydration. Look for any high coloured urine, suggesting dehydration. If not resolving in 5-7 days, we can evaluate for causes like diabetes.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
